Presidential Rock, Paper, Scissors

I have a very simple theory about the politics of this year’s presidential election. It goes like this:

McCain beats Hillary

Obama beats McCain

(Within the democratic party, where it counts) Hillary beats Obama

I’m not quite so sure about the third as I am the first two, but it seems like the most likely outcome right now.

One Response to Presidential Rock, Paper, Scissors

  1. Jonathan Sharp says:

I’m not so sure that Obama will beat McCain in the general election. Obama has lacked substance in his campaigning, what I might call the “and then what?” factor.

Troops out of Iraq? Ok, and then what?

Health care — does his plan require coverage or not? He is “encouraging” employers to provide care. And then what?

His message of change resonates with people, but what does change mean? Out of the frying pan and into the fire is change, but not a change I desire.

We’ll see soon enough what comes of all this, I suppose.
