"Of all the Charlie Browns in the World…"

Watching Levi and Rachel perform in the Turning Pointe production of A Charlie Brown Christmas tonight really brought back memories.

I know I’ve said this before, but that tiny, nearly bare tree is an important metaphor to me. In one sense, it is Charlie Brown. But it is also you and me. It is anyone who is at the margin of a city or a culture. It is Jesus himself.

To this day, I continue to be moved by Charles Schultz’ re-telling of the gospel story in this funny, warm musical, which is perfectly accentuated by an upbeat, three-piece jazz ensemble. Plus, its even MORE fun when you watch kids you know do it live, on stage.

Rachel, who played Peppermint Patty, alongside Madison (“Marcy”) and Levi (Schroeder, out of costume) are pictured below:

As usual Anna Gillette did a great job working with the kids. Her sons were also very entertaining as Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and Woodstock. Here are Levi, Rachel, and Anna:
